Pete’s Dragon, starring Bryce Dallas Howard & Robert Redford
opens in U.S. theaters on August 12th!
If you didn’t love Pete’s Dragon as a child, you didn’t have a childhood (okay, so not a good one anyway). Passamaquoddy was our dream hometown just because we loved to say the name. Elliott made us laugh and was the most loving friend anyone could ask for. He took care of Pete in a way that his crummy foster/adoptive parents refused, and made him feel loved for the first time in his life. As kids, we all connected with Pete regardless of our own home-life.
This year, Disney is giving us the chance to share Elliott and Pete with our kids without them saying “Is this an old movie?” I’m so excited about this film I find myself jumping over to my press portal to see what’s new more than once a day! This morning I found the direct link to the teaser trailer showcased during the Disneyland 60th Anniversary special, and tonight I found the first images Disney released!!!
Who’s ready to see the first images with me?
Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley,
Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence & Robert Redford
After looking at these pictures I have to ask …. does Robert Redford age? He doesn’t look a day over fifty-eight (he’s actually turning 80 this year!!!) That’s amazing! He’s amazing! I kind-of love him!
Now that you’ve seen the first images from the film, are you ready for the teaser trailer? I’m not sure what I think of it yet, it looks much more mysterious than the fun and whimsical original… I hope they keep it fun and whimsical because that’s what made the original so great!
What did you think? Did it leave you wanting more?
If you said yes, that’s great because I plan on giving you more as soon as it is available!!! Stay tuned…

“For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon. Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on August 12, 2016.”
