I am a huge fan of essential oils and I”m really excited to introduce them to you here on Mommy’s Playbook! Essential oils are the natural oils extracted from plants. They can come from the roots, the stems, leaves, flowers or the fruit. EO’s can be used as therapies, inhaled, or even rubbed into the skin to help with a variety of ailments (always read up and ask a practitioner before applying oils directly to the skin). Some of my friends use them to improve mood, help with sleep and relaxation, heal aches and pains, and boost their immune systems. I use them for practically everything, or “all of the above” because they are too amazing not to!
The number one way to use EOs is in a diffuser. I have several diffusers: one in my work office, one in my bedroom, and another in my living room. I change up the combination of oils I diffuse. Currently, I am diffusing eucalyptus and lavender to help with sleep (I’ve hit a patch of insomnia). At work, because it is cold season and everyone at work has children in daycare, there is a blend of orange, clove, cinnamon and eucalyptus to help with my immune health.
Quick Tip: Are your kids battling head lice? OR are you trying to keep them away for good? Try tea tree oil! Put a few drops of tea tree oil directly into your family’s shampoo to keep those pesky pests away this year!
EOs make GREAT Christmas gifts! I’m cool with getting the oils themselves for Christmas. My daughter is making homemade bath bombs for her friends AND as part of a gift basket for her Secret Santa at school. I love what she came up with for them. We used several combinations like orange and lavender. They had such an amazing aroma just sitting in the molds that I begged her to let me keep them! (Make some for mommy please!!!!)
Pure Parker Gifts for Kids!
Pure Parker has a product for everyone, including the kiddos. They sent me a box of kid-scented bath bombs that smell amazing. They are fun scents and when they are dropped in the bath, they bubble and foam, releasing a special surprise from the center of the bomb. My husband decided to try them out and loved the ocean blast scent. The blue and green colors swirled in the tub, leaving a soft scent on his skin. There was no residual weird color ring left in my tub either!
Whether you’re shopping for yourself or for a gift, Pure Parker has a wonderful selection of all natural products that will become a must-have for your home.
