Rice Cereal Easter Peeps Treats Recipe!
My oldest daughter is a huge Peeps fan. I’m not sure I loved them as much as I do, until I had her and started stocking up on them every chance I got. Our favorite? We’re still classic lovers. We like to take the classic yellow Chick or Bunny Peep and turn it into something spectacular! This year we decided to make use of our favorite rice cereal sale but creating our own Peeps Rice Cereal Treat! They were delicious. I may have hidden a few from the kids so I could polish them off myself (Mommy’s Guilty Pleasure — Ha!)

After my Peeps Rice Cereal Treats were set and cut into individual servings, I decided to use a pop stick and treat bag to make them truly special. You know kids can resist a treat in pop form! Each bag has a handful of our favorite Easter candies alongside with a Peeps Rice Cereal Treat Pop!  My littles grabbed their pops and was able to hang onto their treat bag to finish their candy whenever they wanted. It worked out much better than I expected. The bag even kept the rice treat fresher longer!
I added all of our special Easter Peeps rice cereal treats to a basket to allow for my kids to grab them whenever they wanted, but you can do the same as a beautiful way to display your treats this Easter. Take them with you to Church, grandma’s house, or the park, they are yummy no matter how, or when, you present them to your friends and family.
Rice Cereal Easter Peeps Treats Recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 5 Cups Rice Cereal
- 4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 Cup White Chocolate Chips
- 2 Boxes of Easter Peeps (Bunny or Chicks)
- Butter Spray or wax paper
Directions:
In a large saucepan, melt butter on medium-high heat. Once butter is melted, reduce heat to low, add marshmallows and chocolate chips. Stir constantly until both are melted. Remove from heat.
Pour rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add melted marshmallows mixture. Stir until combined.
Spray or cover a 9 x 13 pan with wax paper. Press rice cereal mixture into the pan. Use wax paper or a butter sprayed spoon to press firmly without sticking.
Press Peeps directly onto the top of your rice cereal treat immediately. Allow treats to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes- 1 hour.
Cut into squares and prepare for serving.
(See below for “Pop” instructions)
Turn your Easter Peeps Rice Cereal Treats into pops with a little help from white chocolate baking chips! Melt chocolate, dip the end of your pop stick into melted white chocolate chips. Stick pop stick directly into the rice treat (not through the Peeps). Allow chocolate to set for 10 minutes before adding pops to your party bags. Don’t forget to toss in a handful of your favorite Easter candy before tying with coordinating ribbon!
