  • Congratulations, having a baby is such an amazing experience!! The best advice I can give is to never give yourself a hard time and just enjoy every moment the best that you can. Everyone says to sleep when baby sleeps and this is so true.

    • Yay!! Congrats!! My advice is to take extra clothes in the car for the baby and yourself, plus wipes and a towel. And.. trust your own instincts! You will be great!

  • No matter how tired you are in the middle of the night for feedings, always speak softly to your baby and smile. It will keep them calm and make the feeding go smoothly so baby can go back to sleep and you too!

  • The kids are trapped in the car with you. Turn off the radio & teach your kids. My sons learned a lot of their basics while in the car & we sang lots of fun songs. It’s a great time to bond.

  • Honestly, my best advice is to give yourself grace. When you make a mistake, forgive yourself and get over it. This allows you to be present with your little one, and connect with them on a more positive level. As they grow, it will also teach them the importance of loving yourself. <3

  • Take naps when your baby take naps. I was told this too but I had problems sleeping during the day. I always felt like I should be cleaning or doing laundry.

  • Congrats! Advice? Hmm sleep when the baby sleeps, it’s hard sometimes for sure, especially if there are other littles around, but definitely take any chance for rest you can. Ask for, and accept help. Take lots of photos, they change so quick. And be patient and gentle…with yourself, your partner, the wee ones, but especially yourself. Enjoy the ride!

  • My best parenting advice, & I am a mama of 9, is to teach your babies/kiddos to be thankful for a new day! Sing joyful songs each morning & thank Jesus you are alive! Also tell your babies what a GIFT they are every single day!

  • Sleep when baby sleeps, don’t think that it’s okay to work then, because by the time baby awakes, you’ll be exhausted and not able to give your best care. This will change soon

  • Enjoy those first few months with your new little one. Co-sleep if you feel that’s what’s best for your and your newborns best sleep. Snuggle with your little one all day. Don’t stress about house chores because they will always be there but your newborn will grow quickly. ❤️

  • Best parenting advice! Ask for help! Leave the mess and laundry so you can get some sleep too. Best teether…. cut a red bell pepper in 3rds or fourths the long way, scrape seeds out. Refrigerate and let baby gum on those. It’s sweet, cold, wet, and not made of plastic. Your baby will love it!

  • Having a vibrating bouncer or a baby swing is a lifesaver to have for when they are fussy and have already been changed and fed. they love those things!

  • Don’t be afraid to NOT take advice. Lots of people will want to tell you how to do things or convince your their way is the right way. Do what is best for you and for baby.

  • As the mom of a large family, I would warn you that you are probably going to get a lot of unsolicited advice. My advice would be to pray first, do your research and only listen to the advice of people you trust.

  • I don’t have any babies but have all younger siblings and have had lots of babysitting jobs. When I started watching my sister’s kids (mostly all grown now 18, 16 and 11) she started to tell me how to change diapers. I had to laugh and said You do realize I used to change YOUR diaper? Then I started counting and figured out I have baby sat at least 40 different kids!!! My advice, just go with the flow and enjoy it because they grow up so fast!

  • Enjoy every precious moment. They grow up so fast! Don’t stress over chores that can wait. Accept help from others if they offer. Take lots of pictures and date them. You think you will remember dates later on, but trust me, you won’t! Don’t compare your parenting style to others who you might consider to be a “perfect” parent. You are the perfect parent for your own child. Follow your instincts!

  • Stock up on cleaning wipes and Swiffer sweepers and dusters. You want your living space clean for your new baby and the company that keeps popping in to see the baby. These make cleaning a breeze and you don’t want to waste any more free time cleaning than you have to.

  • The gowns for the baby are the best. they keep the baby warm and makes changing much easier than buttons, snapes, or even zippers. Highly recommend them. in addition, remember it’s okay to not want to do anything or go anywhere. Take time to relax when you can.

  • Every single child is different but I must say that I learned to sleep when they sleep. Its not worth it to run on zero hours of sleep just to have a clean house! Congratulations and thank you for this amazing opportunity! Good luck everyone!
