  • When I was 16, all I wanted was a ghetto blaster with a dual cassette so I could make my own recordings on blank cassette tapes. I also wanted a CD player. I was blessed to get a ghetto blaster with the dual cassette and CD, but I got it a couple of days before Christmas. My brother, 4 years younger than me, had helped my parents pick out the ghetto blaster. The suspense and secret was driving him nuts so after supper, I think on the 23rd of December, my brother proudly carried the wrapped gift out to me at the kitchen table. Needless to say, I was over the moon. I got blank cassettes for Christmas and it did not take long for me to have them all filled with music. I still remember that my brother got teary eyed, just as I did, when I opened my gift.
