How to Dye Easter Eggs with Food Coloring

All opinions expressed herein are my own!

I love Easter but with so many activities and events going on around the same time, I can never remember to buy those Easter egg decorating kits.  The great news is – I don’t need it! That’s right mommy, this year you can skip the extra expense and pull your favorite food coloring out of the pantry instead!

We can dye our eggs with food coloring! Just mix half-cup boiling water, one teaspoon vinegar and add drops food color in a cup or small bowl. Repeat for each color combination you want. Dip hard-boiled eggs into homemade egg dye for as long as it takes to receive the desired colors (up to five minutes.)

Now that you know you don’t need

one of those Easter Egg kits,

will you ever buy them again?

  • I haven’t purchased Easter egg kits in years. We always do our eggs using the food coloring and it never fails. I see that you have pink and purple in your food coloring. I guess I need to get new food colors this year anyways. I love the ribbons on your eggs- very cute!
