Help! What Do I Do With ALL These Hard Boiled Easter Eggs?
Easter. The only time of year when your picky eater will beg you to boil eggs for them. No matter how many times you say “I’m not going to make fifty eggs for you without you eating a single one”, they still won’t eat them….and we do it anyway. We buy eggs by the case. We fill up those little cups with fizzy color droplets and vinegar. We adorn eggs with stickers and even dress them up in silly costumes (someone tell me how that became a thing). And after all that, the kid still turns his/her nose up at it.
I can only make so much potato salad and egg salad sandwiches y’all.
At some point we need to find some way to get our kids to eat some of these eggs. I’m not asking for ALL of the eggs to be consumed by the kids, but, you know, a dozen or two would be helpful.
This, of course, sent me off on a quest. A quest to find some way for my kids to help me eat these Easter eggs after the egg hunt is over. What I found is pretty awesome. I’ve actually had these for a few years now and my littlest bunch loves them. The bonus is they are helpful even after Easter is over, so you don’t have to worry about one more thing that is just a seasonal thing you will have to pack away in your kitchen. You’re going to love them. What’s my secret weapon?
Egg & Sushi Rice Molds!
The sushi rice part is a bit of a bonus for the sushi loving moms out there.Â
Check these out! You just set your peeled hard boiled egg into the mold, close, toss them into a bowl of cold water, and allow them to rest in your fridge for a few minutes. I’ve had mine in the molds for as little as ten minutes because my impatient littles just couldn’t wait any longer before they started busting them open. They really love them! Truly!
Are’t These the Cutest Eggs Ever?
You can find several egg/sushi mold sets online for less than $10 each. They are really inexpensive and worth every penny! I purchased my set three years ago and they are used every week!
