I always worry about the kids staying hydrated at school. My kids are grown nut now I make sure my grandkids have water bottles and know to drink a lot. Especially on the 100+ degree days we have in Southern California.
When I was working as the health clerk in the nurses office at our local elementary school, I called 911 for one of my students that was experiencing petite mall seizure because of dehydration. He had been playing like all young children on a hot day at recess and came to me not feeling well. He was an adorable active little boy that I knew well. Well enough that I was able to recognize the tiny twitches and ring for help.
Hydration is most important and I’m so glad that schools are now allowing the kids to have water bottles at their desks.
One of my children does not drink water as often as he should and is allowed to keep a water bottle at his desk…I am sure that these bottles will convince him to drink more 🙂
My child isnt in school ywt but I worry about her at daycare. I am that worry mom that reminds everyone what she needs when they already know. Haha. You can never be too careful!
Yes. We live in Florida, and they have PE outside every day. I always worry my son is getting too hot and not drinking enough water to rehydrate himself.
I never really used to until last year. My daughter kept coming home dying of thirst as if she hadn’t drank all day. So I started sending a water bottle to school with her every day. It really helped.
My daughter sends my grandsons with plenty of water in their backpacks every time they leave the house so I know they are hydrated, especially important here in the AZ desert.
Yes, I worry about my child’s hydration. I do give him a bottle of water to bring to school every day

I always worry about my kids hydration because they just want to have fun and don’t really think about taking a break for water.

Yes,particularly when the warm months come. My kids are good at drinking water but still it’s a struggle to get enough in them when the heat hits.
Absolutely! We always make sure she has plenty before and after school, and also has a variety of both water and juice to take with her.
