MercyMe’s I Can Only Imagine is the most popular contemporary Christian song in history. While it is impossible to think of anyone who hasn’t heard the song, very few actually knew what inspired Bart Millard from MercyMe to write it. The film is the story of how Millard wrote the song after overcoming an abusive childhood, holding to his faith, and seeing God’s miracle of redemption.
Oh, I can’t wait to read all the reviews and hear how the movie has touched others! I know you can’t either, so look for an update with my full movie review HERE as soon as the film is released on Friday!

About the Film:
I Can Only Imagine features an all-star cast of Golden-Globe® nominee Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow, The Rookie, Soul Surfer), Oscar®-winner Cloris Leachman (The Iron Giant, The Last Picture Show, Young Frankenstein), platinum-selling country music legend Trace Adkins, author and actress Priscilla Shirer (War Room), Madeline Carroll (Mr. Poppers Penguins) and Broadway’s J. Michael Finley (“Les Miserables”).
The film brings to life the true story behind the song of ultimate hope, “I Can Only Imagine.” A transformed relationship with his troubled father inspired Bart Millard, the lead singer of the Christian band MercyMe, to write what is now the most-played radio single in Christian music history. The story beautifully illustrates that nobody is ever too far from God’s love — or too far from an eternal home in Heaven.
Will I dance for you Jesus, Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence, Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine, I can only imagine
I love Dear Younger Me.
I like the song Bring the Rain.
My favorite is Homesick.
I Can Only Imagine is my fav—the very first time I heard it, I was on the way to my Grandma’s funeral–then it was also played at the funeral—I could just imagine my Grandma when she saw Jesus–she was a very Godly woman and a prayer warrior for all.
Homesick
Actually my fave IS “I can only imagine”! Thanks and God Bless!
