1st Look: Pete’s Dragon Movie Poster from Disney! #PetesDragon
In middle school I did a Disney show with my school choir and had two solos. One was from the Little Mermaid (Part of Your World), and the other was from Snow White (Someday my Prince will Come) — but my favorite song from that show wasn’t one of the two I sang on my own, but “Candle on the Water” from Pete’s Dragon. Even now, some 20+ years later, I find myself singing it to my children as a lullaby and it is still one of my all-time favorite Disney movies.
Can you imagine my excitement when I found out Disney is remaking Pete’s Dragon?
I’m elated
…and if you are too, then my blog may be your new favorite place, because I’ll be sharing everything I can get my hands on with you for this movie!!!!
Tonight I was sent the first movie poster Disney released and I think it is really neat that it is motion poster (above). I know it isn’t much, it isn’t a trailer, interview, or behind the scenes look, but it is enough to make me ready for August 12th to arrive!

“For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon. Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on August 12, 2016.”
