My husband’s Birthday is on Valentine’s Day, so we usually just celebrate that. I do make my kids sweet, themed treats though, and cook him whatever he wants. I also make a homemade cake!
I will be making a special dinner for my husband or maybe ordering Chinese. Not sure yet. Guess it depends on how I feel. I’ve been sick lately and having severe sciatic pain.
The husband and I will probably order some food delivery and stay home. That will be just fine for me, as I always enjoy his company no matter where we are! š
We will probably go out to dinner (so I don’t have to cook) but other than that … nothing special. Unfortunately Valentine’s Day is during “tax season” and that is the bane of my existence for many reasons, but most of all the fact that I have almost NO TIME from Feb 1st through May 15th. š But it is my job
My husband and I will be ordering a takeout dinner from our favorite restaurant and then relaxing at home watching a movie and enjoying wine and dessert!
We have what my children have taken to calling a “dark dinner” (aka candlelit dinner).
Back when we had a house full of toddlers and babies, going out on a major eating out holiday was not at ALL appealing to me. Even though it was supposed to be a couples night and many look at it as a nice evening out, there were too many obstacles in the way (for me) to have that be a romantic, enjoyable evening. I had a spontaneous idea instead. I got out the “fancy” dishes (aka not the plastic kiddie plates), stemware, place mats, tablecloth, and candles. I made a nice but simple “multi” course meal (aka salad, then pasta, then dessert) and the kids and I dressed fancy. When my husband came home the kids met him at the door, giggling, and telling him he had to change into his suit. It became a loved family tradition and we have this “dark dinner” every Valentine’s for the past 8-ish years now.
Valentine’s Day is a few days before our Anniversary so we choose to celebrate big on our Anniversary. For Valentine’s Day I cook and bake sweets for my family and we watch a movie.
This will be my second sad valentine’s day in a row. It’s my daughter’s birthday and last year I was in quarantine with COVID so I couldn’t be with her. This year I am away at school and will be in class all day. š I miss her so much.
Our Valentine’s day is spent away with our daughter at our favorite AirBNB. This year its going to be the week after and we are going to a special Fire & Ice Festival in Lititz, Pa.

My husband & I usually go out to dinner but we just moved out of state & don’t really have anyone that can watch our girls so we’ll just spend some quality time after the girls go to bed one night. Love some of your ideas here!
As a single working mom and teacher, I am very frugal and if I win I will get some fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables for my entire family to eat and enjoy this Valentine’s DAY!
Hubby & I stay in for Valentines Day to avoid the crowds & higher-than-normal prices! But we’ll probably go out for dinner sometime this weekend or next.
