5 Creative Gifts For Teachers

All opinions expressed herein are my own!

Coming up with gifts for my teacher friends stresses me out. It seems as if they receive so many of the same things and I want to avoid that as much as possible because I am very grateful for the teachers in my life. Great teachers are invaluable and are really rare, so when you meet a great one, make sure that you celebrate them and let them know. With that being said, here are five creative gifts for teachers. They are not your average gift such as a pack of pens, or a mug. Instead, they are just what every teacher has been wanting:

A Spa-Day

Every teacher you know is extremely stressed. An extremely nice gift would be to gift them a spa day. Maybe you can swing a full spa day with a massage and a facial, or maybe you just want to make a “DIY at-home spa day kit.” Either way, I am sure they will be extremely thankful and relaxed.

Support For Programs Such As TEACHINGpoint

With a mission to help support teachers with thorough lesson plans for each subject, Teaching Point offers instructional and mentoring support for teachers, complete catalog subscription for schools and districts, and micro-credentials for teachers.

“TEACHINGpoint was established to develop comprehensive teacher preparation and instructional support materials written by expert teachers who understand the needs of novice teachers, teachers with new assignments and teachers facing out-of-field assignments — The Expert Systems for Teachers™ Series of TEACHINGpoint instructional support materials is grounded in research-based best practices  and presently serves schools in all 50 U.S. states and over 85 countries.” Teaching Point is “a system and method for professional development for teachers which includes a structured framework for creating and providing online courses, qualification testing, instructional material, and mentoring teacher access, all subject specific to help teachers gain competency in their individualized teaching assignments and by extension help in the recruitment, development and retention of teachers leading to improved student achievement.”

For parents, you only want the best for your children and decades of research shows that a better prepared teacher leads to improved student achievement. Even for the most experienced teachers out there, Teaching Point is useful because the program will help provide new assignments lesson plans, and activities to help aid in their success of teaching subjects properly. Teaching Point has extremely reasonable pricing – all resources no matter if it is unit only or whole courses include daily lesson plans, editable lecture notes, labs or activities, and quizzes or tests with keys. All of that is $15-50 for student books and units or $51 and up for full course teacher guides and mentoring. This comes out to be approximately $2 a day in each unit that includes lesson plans, editable PowerPoints, labs, or activities and editable assessments.

I do know that some school systems do not allow teachers to accept cash donations and if that is the case, please just take the time to urge the principal to purchase Teaching Point for the teachers in their school. It really is perfect for the principals and superintendents who are searching for ways to support teachers leading to improved student achievement, graduation rates, and college and workforce readiness.

Teaching Point offers instructional and mentoring support for teachers, complete catalog subscription for schools and districts, and micro-credentials for teachers.

Ice Cream Sundae Kit

It is no secret, everyone loves ice cream, and it is the ultimate way to make someone smile! Give a colorful kit equipped with all the ingredients you need to make an epic ice cream sundae. If you want to personalize this item, ask them their favorite candies and include it in the gift. Then throw in some waffle or sugar cones, fun sprinkles, and an ice cream scoop and call it a day. For an added bonus, adorn your kit with a tag that says: “Here is the scoop, you are the sweetest teacher.”

Red Box Gift Pack

For this gift, all you need to do is buy a Red Box gift card, some candy, and popcorn. Then place all these items in a decorated box and you are done. It is as simple as that. I have never met anyone who doesn’t love relaxing on the couch at the end of a long day, enjoying a good movie, and eating tasty snacks.

Teacher Survival Kit

Every one of my teacher friends are rock stars, there, I said it. They have to deal with germs, screaming kids, and non-stop energy coming at them the entire school day. Therefore, a teacher survival kit is an adorable and much-needed gift. This gift is completely customizable, but I recommend including the following products: Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, snacks, hand cream, and lip balm.
