Easy Halloween Monster Pancakes Recipe

All opinions expressed herein are my own!

Pancakes are our go-to breakfast because they are inexpensive and easy to prepare on our large griddle.  Everyone is fed in less than ten minutes, from start to finish! It’s pretty amazing in my opinion, although, my kids do tire of them from time to time.  The simplest cure for their culinary boredom is to come up with something that is just as visually appealing as it is flavorful.  Sometimes that means I make my own berry syrup, toss in chocolate chips, or add fun toppings. Other times, we try to create fun shapes with the pancakes themselves.  (Hey! Anything we can do to get our kids to eat what’s in front of them! Am I right?)

For Halloween, we are going with these adorable little monsters.  They are a wonderful way to make an ugly pancake perfect again! — Do you have a child who won’t eat a pancake that isn’t perfect?  Me too!  Monster pancakes might become our go-to year round for those days when our batter isn’t dropping as it should- HA!

Easy Monster Pancakes make the perfect breakfast for Halloween Morning! Fuel up before the fun Halloween Festivities with these delicious fruit topped monster pancakes #Halloween #Monsters #FoodMonsters

Easy Halloween Monster Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • Pancakes Batter
  • 1-2 Bananas
  • 1/2 Cup Blueberries
  • 2 Strawberries
  • Syrup (optional)

Directions:

Wash berries, set aside.

Warm your griddle, non-stick pan, or cast iron skillet.

Prepare your favorite pancake batter. Drop a 2 oz ladle full of batter onto your griddle.  Add 2 drops of batter on each side of the pancake to make “arms” and “legs” (or “ears” and “arms”).   Cook and repeat until you have prepared the desired amount of pancakes.

Plate your monster pancakes!  Add one monster to your plate.  Cut 4 banana slices.  Use 3 slices for the eyes, top with 3 blueberries. Slice strawberry into thin strips to make the monster’s mouth. Cut 1 banana slice into 3 triangles for the teeth. Repeat until all monsters are prepared.  Serve with side of warm syrup.

The most creative I’ve ever been with pancakes is putting the kids’ initials on them. I think this would be fun to try, even with my college kids!

I love these! My mom used to make my sister and I turtle pancakes when we were little. If she messed it up she then called them alien pancakes.

My kids would love this but most of them wouldn’t eat anything but the pancake so I guess it’s too wasteful to do. 🙁
