Find Out: What Songs Will Be in the Pete’s Dragon Film
I have been on the edge of my seat for months awaiting word about the music that may, or may not, appear in Pete’s Dragon in August. Although, I knew the modern film was not going to be a musical, my love for the 1977 film left me hopeful that I would hear pieces of my favorites; “Bop Bop Bopbop Bop (I Love You, Too)” and “Candle on the Water”, specifically.
While reading through my press packet this evening I scanned the list of music that will be featured in the film and was sad to not read the words I wanted to see. Both songs, including “Candle on the Water”, were overlooked. I’m a little [a lot] disappointed that such a memorable, Academy Award nominated, song from the original film was excluded from this story.
There’s Still Hope!
Candle on the water is listed on the Soundtrack! Since I haven’t actually seen the film for myself yet, I can only hope that the powers that be will change their minds between now and the official release.

The music from this original film was quite memorable. I am interested to hear “Candel on the Water” as well as all the other music. My daughters love hearing good music from their favorite movies and constantly sing it.
